Jazirah Aviation Club

A flight in a micro aircraft or a ride on a powered parachute will allow guests a unique and unsurpassed view of the picturesque Arabian Peninsula. Guests will enjoy a bird’s eye view of the regal mountains, exotic desert and tranquil turquoise sea.

Established in 1998, the Jazirah Aviation Club holds the distinction of being the first micro light and LSA flying club in the United Arab Emirates. The club boasts of more than 300 members and has a fleet made up of 50 different flying machines. The club’s fleet includes paramotors, powered parachutes and micro light aircraft.

The Jazirah Aviation Club is located at the Jazirah Airport and contains two runways. There are also qualified aviation instructors on site that can train pilots to fly various flying machines. The aviation instructors teach using guidelines from GCAA approved training and operations manual. His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi is the chairman of the Jazirah Aviation Club, making it a distinguished organization worthy of joining.

All aircraft is well maintained by qualified aircraft engineers ensuring guests a high measure of safety. Tourists wishing to gain a different perspective of Ras Al Khaimah will enjoy short sightseeing flights. For those more adventurous guests, the ability to learn to fly aircraft themselves is also available.

Training consists of two phases. The first step is ground school training, and the second is flying. Ground school consists of 25 hours of learning time while flying requires 20 to 25 hours. Complete flight training consists of a pre-solo flight check along with a final handling test before any pilot is allowed a solo flight.

Guest reviews:
Bugaguli says this about her experience at the flight club:

“I loved this experience! You can take a flight in a small airplane and look at Ras Al Khaimah from above. This is absolutely fantastic, and it is affordable. As far as I know, the club offers other adventures such as paragliding. However, I tried only a one-hour flight, and I enjoyed it a lot. I would like to do it again!”

Another former guest Teddytouma shares his opinion as well:

“We had a 15-minute tour in the sky, and the view was awesome. From the man-made island to the flamingos and the dead city of Ras Al Khaimah, the experience was pure adrenaline.”

DK and GQ also shares his experience of the aviation club:

“Thank you, to our pilot Amith. He allowed me the opportunity to experience dual-flying in the RAK area on a FK 9. It was a great opportunity to see RAK from above at reasonable price. We were also able to fly along the coastline and up to the border to Oman.”

Some guests come to the aviation club to experience a one-time flight, while others want to obtain a pilot’s license. No matter what brings guests to the Jazirah Aviation Club, they will undoubtedly leave impressed since this aviation club is even impressive to His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi. While flying, the beautiful portrait painted of the ground below is truly a breathtaking image of Ras Al Khaimah.
